SepsePed is an educational game aimed at professionals and students in the nursing field, focusing on the identification and management of sepsis in pediatrics.
Developed from a doctoral thesis at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), SepsePed offers an interactive virtual simulation that stimulates clinical reasoning and decision-making in pediatric emergency situations.
During the game, the participant follows the clinical case of a child with sepsis, answering questions based on the evolution of the condition. Each answer generates immediate feedback — positive or negative — allowing for the review of decisions and reinforcement of learning.
The questions and procedures follow the guidelines of the Latin American Sepsis Institute (ILAS) and the Surviving Sepsis Campaign (SSC).
Throughout the experience, the player also has access to flashcards with supplementary content to deepen their knowledge about sepsis.
SepsePed aims to empower nurses and nursing technicians in a practical, accessible, and engaging way, contributing to the early recognition and appropriate treatment of sepsis in children.
